Losing weight is one of the hardest things to do. Harder than that is maintaining that lost weight. Medical specialists in Lahore are believers that weight has a huge impact on health. Weight loss or weight gain journey for every individual is very personal. You cannot force the hand of a person to lose weight. If he or she does not will it, they will not lose weight.

What most people do not understand is that a person has his own mindset and his own perspective of looking at things. If you continuously pressure them towards a goal, they will behave more stubbornly.

Once you have lost weight, after a while you let yourself go free and slowly start gaining that weight back. It happens so steadily that you are not aware of it first but when you realize the situation, the ship has already sailed.

  1. Counting Calories

You can eat all you want but if you know the number of calories you consume, you can stop yourself from overindulging. A big Mac has over 700 calories. And if you divide your meal in proportion you can consume 700 calories in 2 or 3 meals rather than in just one sitting.

Following my plate guidelines will surely help you in counting the calories.

You can also download an app and look at the number of calories that each food group has. This way you can consume the calories while knowing your limit. This helps you know the right amount of food you should eat from every food group.

  1. Don’t Starve Yourself

starvation is not an answer to losing weight. If you think that you might possibly gain all the weight that you’ve worked so hard to shed, you will think of ways not to do that. The most common method that comes to mind is starvation or to go on a cleanse. you might think it is working but the reality is far from that.

What you are really doing is putting your body through stress and trauma and confusing the brain. Stress is going to signal the brain and eventually, you are going to end up getting more hungry which will result in you binge eating. Hence, your stomach will get upset and you will not be able to stop yourself from eating.

  1. Exercise Regularly

The best way to maintain weight when you have lost it is to exercise. This does not mean that you have to exercise daily for straight 2 to 3 hours or that you have to visit the gym. There are many forms of exercises that you can do including pilates and cardio. You can do these exercises at home without having to go outside of your home.

Exercise 3 times a week and you can what your heart desires without having to overthink it because you are putting your body through different routines of the exercise. If you think you have indulged yourself a bit more than usual, you can increase the time of your workout and balance it all out.

  1. Proportioned Meals

A proportioned meal is very necessary to maintain weight loss. You can count the calories you consume but if you do not take care of what you are consuming, or if you eat too much of only one or two food groups, it is bound to upset your stomach and your routine.

Include every food group in your meal. Incorporate both meat and vegetables to balance the calories and to enjoy a hearty meal. Add fats to your diet as well but in proportioned amounts.

  1. Say No to Sedentary Lifestyle

One of the biggest reasons for gaining weight is the lack of motivation and leading a sedentary lifestyle. A sedentary lifestyle potentially destroys any remnant of motivation and potential you have. Be more active, participate in sports, in different events. Keep that brain of yours working and running.

Don’t get lazy and sit in your bed all day. Live your life to the fullest and try new things that interest you. This way your mind will keep busy and so will your body.

Maintaining weight in a fast-paced life is difficult. But if you motivate yourself to achieve your goals and participate in different activities, your life will change.
